Practice Area: Veterans Law

Education: Park University (B.S., cum laude, Criminal Justice Administration), Capital University Law School (J.D.)

Erica is a member of our VA department and has experience in both disability law and services.  Prior to joining Jackson & MacNichol, she practiced Social Security disability law in Florida and Ohio and served as a higher education administrator, overseeing disability and student services for a nursing college.

During law school, Erica developed an interest in disability law after reading about the need for more practitioners in the Veterans disability practice area in a law student journal.  While in school, Erica served on the executive boards of several student organizations and founded the school’s public interest and government law association and helped co-found the military law society.  She received a scholarship from the National Organization of Veterans Advocates (NOVA).  Additionally, she participated in moot court and was a member of the school’s law review.  She obtained a double concentration in Governmental Affairs and Labor & Employment Law and was recognized at her commencement ceremony with the Public Service Award.

Prior to law school, Erica served six years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps.  It was there that she developed a passion for public service and a deep commitment to advocating for her fellow service members.

In her free time, Erica enjoys community service, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her daughter and pets.
