Portland is the seat of Cumberland County<\/a> and the business, financial and retail capital of Maine<\/a>. Portland is also home to ME\u2019s<\/a> largest port<\/a>. Traditionally, the local economy relied on agriculture, fishing and manufacturing; however, in recent years, Portland\u2019s economic lifeblood shifted to rely on more service-oriented industries.
